Rough SEO tips for Bisdak Bloggers

January 27th 2009 15:14
So here are my Quick and Dirty Tips for my fellow Bisdak Bloggers who I presume is trying to snag the number 1 spot in Google as of this very moment.

1. When writing a post aimed for a particular keyword such as “Bisdak Blogger“, make sure you have a keyword density of at least 3% or at least higher than your competitor’s. Keyword density is computed using this formula: (total number of keyword) / (total number of words) = Keyword Density. So if you have around 10 bisdak blogger keyphrases and your total number of words is 300, your keyword density for the Bisdak blogger keyphrase is 3.33%

2. Link Build. If you want to rank for the keyword, “Bisdak Blogger“, make sure that you have sufficient text links using this keyword. I am linking to Miong’s Bisdak blogger post using the anchor text, you guessed it, Bisdak Blogger. Why? The more links pointing to your site using this keyphrase means that your site is relevant for the Bisdak Blogger term.

Page rank Tango

April 30th 2008 02:50
Yesterday morning, I was all smug to see the PR of my personal blog rise from 3 to 4. However, during late afternoon, it dropped to 3 again. That's weird and frustrating. What gives Google?! Now some more Page rank tango are happening to some of the sites we are maintaining. These sites are fairly new I might add and their page rank this morning was like 5! "Ahh, okay, am I being punked? Come on baby, show me Ashton Kutcher."

Anyway, any form of celebration is postponed until we have this pinned down. Who else is experiencing this? Who among you almost fainted because you're blog's PR from zero increased to five?

Linkedin

March 30th 2008 07:11
How many of you have set up an account in Linkedin? Linkedin is a professional social network. Its more like facebook, only most members there are adults with jobs. Linkedin is focused more on the business side with over 20 million members worldwide. Its hardly a place for you to upload hundreds of your photos and simply connect to other members but rather it's a place wherein you find a chance in meeting potential clients and more. There are several ways to use Linkedin and Mario Sundar has written at most "Ten Ways to Use Linkedin."

In his list, he mentioned:

1. Increase you visibility
2. Improve your connectability
3. Improve your Google PageRank
4. Enhance your search engine results
5. Perform blind, “reverse,” and company reference checks
6. Increase the relevancy of your job search
7. Make your interview go smoother
8. Gauge the health of a company
9. Gauge the health of an industry
10. Track startups

Using controversy in your articles

February 19th 2008 01:22
Using controversy as a vehicle to create interest in your unique article content is one way to *stir the pot*, attract traffic and be entertaining…

However, if the high majority of your articles are all controversy-position-taking, it will be difficult for you to maintain a level of credibility over the long haul

Random thoughts

February 12th 2008 03:50
We recently uploaded the new lay-out for LazyAnimation and LazyMask websites. We used the css and div codes to make the site more search engine friendly and more presentable for our site visitors.

The update on LazyMask's web lay-out had pushed the site to rank number 5 in google SERPs (at least thats the last time I checked). *applause* LazyMask was kindda stuck in the 7th rank before, the team is so happy with the results we are seeing

What are perfect links?

January 24th 2008 07:14
Link building is the pump-prime undertaking in SEO. You submit to directories, join forums and relentlessly seek link partners to swap links with. Since Google place a positive bias on links that fit most on their relevancy boosting algorithms, I guess it would only be right that we discuss where to find these links and what does it constitute.

- Try finding links in trusted sites. These are primarily seed sites that rank highly in TrustRank Algorithm
