Rough SEO tips for Bisdak Bloggers

January 27th 2009 15:14
So here are my Quick and Dirty Tips for my fellow Bisdak Bloggers who I presume is trying to snag the number 1 spot in Google as of this very moment.

1. When writing a post aimed for a particular keyword such as “Bisdak Blogger“, make sure you have a keyword density of at least 3% or at least higher than your competitor’s. Keyword density is computed using this formula: (total number of keyword) / (total number of words) = Keyword Density. So if you have around 10 bisdak blogger keyphrases and your total number of words is 300, your keyword density for the Bisdak blogger keyphrase is 3.33%

2. Link Build. If you want to rank for the keyword, “Bisdak Blogger“, make sure that you have sufficient text links using this keyword. I am linking to Miong’s Bisdak blogger post using the anchor text, you guessed it, Bisdak Blogger. Why? The more links pointing to your site using this keyphrase means that your site is relevant for the Bisdak Blogger term.

Your First Google

February 13th 2008 06:16
Google has this ubiquitous presence in our everyday internet lives. I not only Google almost every question I need to ask but my line of work forces Google to be a big part of my everyday living. And I might as well say, that Google helps me pay my bills.

Like I said, we Google almost everything, but can you still remember your first Google? What did you search for?

I was a big yahoo loyalist then. Everytime I search for something I do it on yahoo and, well, askjeeves also, now commonly known as ask. Back during my college days when research and thesis was almost the biggest happening in our little lives, my friend told me like, "Hey Zenia, you ought to try using Google than ask or yahoo. It gives more results."

I was like, "Oh, really??? You don't say?". I tried it that night, I forgot the term I was searching for, but then it took several tries before I really got the hang of Google. I was more used to yahoo and ask. Using Google then was stepping out of my comfort zone.

What was your first Google experience?

Random thoughts

We recently uploaded the new lay-out for LazyAnimation and LazyMask websites. We used the css and div codes to make the site more search engine friendly and more presentable for our site visitors.

The update on LazyMask's web lay-out had pushed the site to rank number 5 in google SERPs (at least thats the last time I checked). *applause* LazyMask was kindda stuck in the 7th rank before, the team is so happy with the results we are seeing.

I have been working as an SEO for a year now. And within that span of year, I have learned quite a lot and have been ahead with most of my collegues. I wouldn't say Im on the expert level, more on advance level though. What do you think should it take to be like Matt Cutts or Aaron Wall? hmmmm... I guess that's my long term goal for my SEO profession; to be just like these guys and even more.

I have been so over confident that I failed to realize that it will take me years and years of SEO experience and loads of research to get to where I want to go. So here's to us SEO newbies and the not so new. A toast to this creatively challenging profession we have gotten ourselves into.

Ready for some Magic?

November 27th 2007 08:36
I need a break. I have been so busy working; when will it ever stop (grin). Yeah, yeah enough with the drama... My morning was quite interesting, the interesting part doesn't really involve any SEO in it, I will posting more useful things soon I just need to get this out of my system. A colleague shared to me an email she received. I don't know if this particular email has been forwarded to half of the people around the globe. Anyway, I just thought I needed to share this and forward the message to the other half of human populace.

For the first magic

SEO Poems

October 16th 2007 09:02
A colleague of mine have been exploring many things on SEO and she accidentablly bumped on some SEO poems. Thanks to her, I now have a new post.

Both these poems are not mine, nor my colleague's though. We found it quite amazing and amusing that our work can push us to create something creative. Surely, these guys think about SEO 24/7. Writing a poem about SEO would be something I would like to work on in the coming days, yes, when my work can actually give me the luxury of time

What this post's link (click the bounce-Ometer link) is about to point to is not necessarily porn of some kind but rather the kind wherein you don't want your boss or your parents would want to catch you watching... *evil grin* For the purpose of creative learning and my continuous effort to update you on the what's hot on the net, well, I'm more than obliged to show you this.

www.shockabsober.co.uk have the right and utterly creative idea when it comes to linkbait. They have created an interactive tool called, "Bounce-Ometer" that lets one choose a cup size and the level of physical activity to see a computer simulation of the varying difference of wearing no bra, a normal bra and the shock absorber collection sports bra

Sinulog 2007

Sinulog
sinulog

The Sinulog Festival is one of the grandest and most colorful festivals in the Philippines. The main festival is held each year on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City in honor of Santo Niño, or the child Jesus. (Santo Niño is the patron saint of the whole province of Cebu.)The festival features some the country’s most colorful displays of pomp and pageantry: participants garbed in bright-colored costumes dance to the rhythm of the drums. Sinulog came from the Cebuano adverb for “like water current movement”. The celebration lasts for nine days. On Sunday, the ninth day, the Sinulog grand parade unfolds. A solemn procession takes place in which hundreds of thousands, all devotees of the patron, participate. Earlier in the day, a grand and colorful water-parade is held from the Mandaue City wharf to Cebu City wharf
